I’ve been exploring ways to enhance our MRI protocols specifically for pediatric patients. One technique I’ve found to be incredibly effective is using sedation in certain cases to reduce anxiety, which results in better imaging outcomes. I’m curious if anyone else has experience with this or alternative methods that have worked well in your practice.
I’ve found that using distraction techniques, like allowing kids to wear headphones with their favorite music, can really help reduce anxiety during the scan. It keeps them calm and still, which makes a big difference for the imaging quality; just be sure to monitor their reactions and adjust if needed to keep them comfortable.
Using sedation can definitely help, but I’ve also seen success with breathing exercises before the scan. Maybe it’d be worth exploring both approaches? @michaelsmith42.
